AM Drop Off / PM Pick Up Information

Drop off/Pick up Procedures

For morning drop off and after school dismissal, we ask that parents follow our "new" traffic pattern in an effort to ease the traffic burden on the neighboring community.

AM DROP OFF- The designated traffic pattern will have all vehicles enter the main driveway on Pacific Ave. In a single lane, vehicles will proceed directly onto the property. Vehicles will a make a left turn around the building where the single lane will become two lanes. Proceed with caution to the designated drop off cones. Students will exit vehicles and head toward the playground area where staff is on duty for morning recess at 8:00am.

PM PICK UP- The designated traffic pattern will have all vehicles enter the main driveway on Pacific Ave. In a single lane, vehicles will proceed directly onto the property. Vehicles will a make a left turn around the building where the single lane will become two lanes.

The "BLUE" lane will be the first lane and is designated for single passenger pick up only (If you are picking up only one student in your vehicle, please turn into the blue lane).

The "YELLOW" lane will be for multiple student/car pool pick up only (If you are picking up more than one student in your vehicle, please proceed to the next entry way which is the yellow lane). The multiple students will stand together for pick up in the yellow lane.

Please have your designated Somerset student pick up sheet in your windshield to help us quickly and safely identify which students are getting into which vehicles. All vehicles who are picking up students must have these official sheets in the window for student safety.

To eliminate as much traffic as possible on Pacific Ave., we are asking that parents do not park on the street and walk in, but remain in their vehicles and drive through to pick up students.
School ends at 3:15pm and students will begin to be released to vehicles at that time. If you can avoid arriving at the campus before 3:00pm, it would be greatly appreciated. We are adding security gates to all campus entrances and cars will begin to "pile up" at the entrance blocking traffic into and out of the main drive way if cars are parked on the street at 2:30pm. We still have people and services trying to enter the building at that time and we can not block the entrances or exits for those that need to arrive or exit during our pick up.
